An Easy Way to Consume Content on YOUR Terms

by Debi Auger

While working on another eBook yesterday, I stumbled across a great little tool that has me VERY excited so I need to share it with you!

Having an online business means I'm on and off the internet constantly. And I'm always running across things I want to read... articles, blog posts, product reviews, tutorials, etc. I'm always looking for opportunities to learn. It can be distracting though, especially if it's something I'm afraid to misplace in my bookmarks, because I'll stop what I'm doing to read it.

Up until now, that's where everything would go... into bookmarks. Now granted my bookmarks are obsessively organized into folders and sub-folders. But I always get nervous putting something urgent in there so I end up writing a note so I don't forget to go back and read it.

Well, this all changed yesterday when I stumbled across Pocket (formerly Read It Later). I think this has excellent productivity potential for me and hopefully for you, too!

Using Pocket you can save content (articles, videos, photos, pretty much anything) from your browser, mobile device or from any of the more than 300+ apps that integrate with it. You can save to Pocket from Facebook. You can even email content to your Pocket!

And the best part... all of it is held in your Pocket to be viewed WHENever and WHEREver you are! You can read it in your browser, on your iPhone or iPad, Android device or Kindle Fire. And you don't need to have an internet connection! How convenient is that? Oh, and it's FREE!

Watch this video, then I'll tell you how I'm using it...

I'm usually working on my laptop all day and find stuff in my travels. So I put the Pocket Bookmark Button onto my bookmarks bar. I popped my more urgent stuff into Pocket and then was able to set aside "reading time" later to review all these articles sitting comfortably on the couch with my Xoom tablet. This means I no longer have to interrupt what I'm doing to read something. And I don't have to worry about forgetting to read it. Pocket is going to be my daily reading queue. That's the plan.

Yup, I think I'm REALLY going to love this! Let me know what you think. Do you use it? Are you gonna try it? Let me know how it goes if you do!

Much Success,
